Temporary Structures & Outdoor Builds London
Bespoke façades, stages, pavilions and outdoor event builds — designed, engineered and installed by one London team.
Temporary structures and outdoor builds for London festivals, brand activations and public-realm events — bespoke façades, stages, pavilions, ticket booths and weatherproof scenic, engineered for wind loading and fully certified for public use. Designed, fabricated, dressed and installed by our in-house team, with structural sign-off and scenic finish coming from one accountable supplier.
Every outdoor build is wind-load engineered, ground-condition assessed and supplied with full structural calcs, RAMS and CDM documentation, so venue and local-authority sign-off is straightforward. From parklands and squares to rooftops and forecourts across London and the UK, we deliver bold, brand-led structures that stand up to British weather and look the part on camera. Send the brief, footprint and dates and we'll come back with concept sketches and a structural-cost outline within a week.

What we build
Four categories cover ~90% of the temporary-structure briefs that land in our London workshop. Every build is bespoke to brief — we don’t hire stock marquees. We design, fabricate and finish the structure around your creative, your sponsorship furniture and your venue
Festivals & public-realm events
Branded stages, pavilions, ticket booths and entrance façades for London festivals, parks, squares and public-realm events. Wind-loaded, weatherproof, certified for public-use. We work from your festival’s site plan, navigate the local-authority sign-off process and install inside the event’s build window. Recent festival work: drinks brand houses, foodfestival sponsor pavilions, music-festival entrance arches.
Outdoor brand activations
Pop-up structures, branded façades and immersive outdoor installations for forecourts, rooftops, courtyards and public squares. Built to draw walk-up crowds, photograph well from every angle and survive a British summer. From single-day PR moments to multi-week residencies in destination London postcodes — Coal Drops Yard, Battersea, Southbank, Shoreditch.
Filming & PR stunt structures
Photo-led temporary builds for press moments, content capture, stunt activations and outdoor shoots. Hero structures engineered to photograph beautifully from the angles the brief calls for — wind-rated for safe install in open spaces, dressed and finished to the level a national press photo needs. Fast turnaround on PR briefs: from sign-off to install in 3–4 weeks.
Corporate & hospitality pavilions
VIP pavilions, sponsor lounges, hospitality marquees and branded structures at sporting and cultural events. Premium finish, climate-controlled where needed, fully accessible and built to Premier League / Royal-event venue standards. We work directly with venue operations to schedule install around event programming.

How we engineer for outdoor
Engineered for British weather, certified for public use
The single biggest difference between a bespoke event structure and a stock marquee hire is what happens when the wind picks up or the venue asks for paperwork. Every PopHaus build is engineered, calculated and documented to the same standard the venue’s own permanent infrastructure is held to — so sign-off is fast and the only conversation on site is about scenic finish.
-
Wind-load engineered. Every structure is calculated for site-specific wind loading. Open exposed sites, urban rooftops, riverside builds — each gets its own calc pack from our structural engineer.
-
Ground-condition assessed. We survey the site, assess ground bearing capacity and pick the right anchoring system — kentledge ballast, ground stakes, ballast tanks or bolt-down. No improvising on install day.
-
Full structural calcs supplied. Every build ships with stamped engineer’s calcs, fire-retardant material certificates and load schedules — the documents your venue, local authority and insurer all want to see.
-
RAMS and CDM compliant. Project-specific Risk Assessment and Method Statement issued ahead of install. CDM 2015 documentation supplied where the project triggers it. Working-at-height teams trained and PASMA / IPAF certified.
-
Local-authority liaison. We deal directly with London borough licensing and event teams — Royal Parks, Westminster, Hackney, Lambeth, Southwark — so your team isn’t chasing permits the week before install.
-
Public-liability insurance to £10m. Covered for public events at all the major London venues. Certificates issued on request before contract.
How a temporary structure build runs
Six steps from brief to de-rig. Typical lead time 2–8 weeks. Anything tighter is possible — we can compress the build window on a rush premium.
Step 1 — Brief, footprint and dates
Share the venue, the footprint, the dates, the creative direction and the budget band. Within 5 working days we come back with concept sketches, materials direction, a structural-cost outline and install/de-rig schedule. No brief fee.
Step 2 — Site survey and structural design
Once we’re engaged, we visit the site, assess ground conditions, access routes, weight limits, rigging points and overhead clearances. Our structural engineer signs off the design before fabrication begins. CAD drawings and engineer’s calcs supplied to you and the venue.
Step 3 — Workshop fabrication
Structural framing, scenic façades, joinery, print and finishing all happen in parallel in our London build partner workshops. Where possible we pre-build the full structure indoors and test-fit before it ships, so install day is assembly not problem-solving
Step 4 — Transport and access planning
We plan the route, the vehicle type and the load-in window with the venue. HIAB, Moffett or hand-ball — we book the right kit for the access. Most London venues need an out-of-hours get-in; we crew accordingly.
Step 5 — Install, dress and sign-off
Crew on site, structure assembled, scenic dressed, signed off by venue and event team. Most outdoor structures install in 24–72 hours depending on scale. During activation we provide on-call site crew for any running repairs or wind-management adjustments.
Step 6 — De-rig, storage or sustainable disposal
Clean strike to the venue’s schedule. Where the structure has reuse potential we store it for the next campaign. Where it doesn’t, materials are routed to timber recycling, scrap metal, charity build projects or community spaces — disposal evidence supplied where you need it for sustainability reporting.
