How a set builder London install day runs
Pre-install: site survey, RAMS and CAD pack
Site visit ahead of install to confirm access, rigging points, power, fire regs, working windows and venue-specific quirks. RAMS issued, agreed with venue's technical team. CAD pack produced at design stage shared with crew so they're working from the same drawings that informed the workshop fabrication.
Truck arrives: load-in and access
Crew on site, HIAB or Moffett booked where the access calls for it. Most central London venues need an out-of-hours get-in we crew the right shift. Hand-ball routes assessed for tight access (lift dimensions, stair gauges, door widths all confirmed before the truck books in).
Build-up: set assembly, AV, dressing
Structural and scenic assembled first, AV and rigging next, dressing and finishing last. AV-into-scenic integration done at workshop fabrication stage where possible so on-site time is wiring not building. Sign-off: venue and client
