How we work — design, fabricate, install, de-rig
We deliver the full lifecycle in-house, which means tighter coordination, fewer suppliers in the mix, and 20–30% leaner budgets than a fragmented supply chain quoting the same scope.
1. Design & CAD
Concept sketches, technical drawings, 3D visualisations and engineered drawings ready for sign-off.
2. Fabrication
Carpentry, metalwork, CNC routing, plastic fabrication, scenic painting, sculpting and finishing.
3. Install & on-site delivery
Crew, transport, rigging, project management and venue liaison. We handle access, weight limits, load-in schedules and crew flow so install runs to time.
4. De-rig, storage & reuse
Efficient breakdown, waste segregation and recycling, plus storage of reusable scenic for future activations — cutting cost on repeat builds.
Materials and fabrication capabilities
Our workshop handles the full material range commonly specified on set build briefs:
-
Timber and ply — flats, framework, structural carpentry
-
Metalwork — steel frames, aluminium structures, welding, finishing
-
Plastics — acrylic, perspex, vacuum forming, CNC plastic cutting
-
Polystyrene and foam — hot-wire sculpting, hard-coating, large-scale props
-
Scenic painting — texturing, faux finishes, marbling, ageing, brand-matched colour
-
Digital print and graphics — large-format vinyls, direct-to-substrate, fabric prints
-
Sustainable options — FSC timber, water-based paints, reusable modular systems
If you have a specific material spec or sustainability requirement, we'll engineer the build around it.

Why PopHaus for set build in London
-
Producer-led delivery — one accountable team running the full project: design, fabrication, install and de-rig. You deal with us, we deal with the suppliers.
-
Trusted supplier network — long-standing relationships with the right fabricators, scenic painters, metalworkers and crew for each brief. We match the maker to the build, not the build to a fixed workshop.
-
London-based, nationwide install — central to most UK venues, fast site visits, and access to the best London-based fabricators for tight turnarounds.
-
Build-first mindset — we're producers who think like builders. Drawings are made to be made. Schedules are made to be delivered.
-
Sustainable practice where the brief allows — modular scenic, material reuse, recycled finishes, responsible disposal.
-
Crew you can rely on — experienced install teams who know venue access, rigging points, load-in flow and de-rig sequencing.
How much does set build cost in London?
Most London set builds fall into three budget tiers, driven by scale, scenic complexity, materials, lead time and on-site install. Because PopHaus runs the whole project as your producer — design, supplier coordination, install and de-rig — you avoid the markup and admin drag of managing multiple suppliers yourself. Briefs typically come in leaner and run smoother than a self-managed supply chain.
The biggest cost drivers on any set build are: scenic complexity (smooth painted finishes vs. textured/sculpted work), structural engineering (anything load-bearing or overhead), material spec (bespoke metalwork and plastics over standard timber), lead time (rush jobs add 15–30%), and install window (overnight or out-of-hours installs add crew cost).
